IBM continued the expansion of its global ecosystem with two new collaborations this week—one in hybrid cloud technology with Wipro Limited, the other in edge computing with ClearBlade.
IBM and Wipro, building on their already extensive relationship, are broadening Wipro’s IBM Hybrid Cloud Practice. Supported by technical experts from both organizations, the practice will help Wipro customers modernize their digital operations across hybrid cloud environments by leveraging IBM Cloud Paks—containerized software running on Red Hat OpenShift.
Wipro is a global leader in information technology, consulting and business process services. Wipro’s IBM Hybrid Cloud Practice unit will help customers innovate at scale by leveraging industry-ready Wipro solutions such as BoundaryLess Enterprise (BLE) and ModernizR.
Wipro’s BLE is a hybrid cloud management platform offering a comprehensive array of technologies in a single environment. ModernizR, a software-based solution built with IBM Cloud Pak for Application, is designed to help enterprises move their legacy applications to the cloud by leveraging artificial intelligence to mine and analyze customer’s legacy applications and data.
Both BLE and ModernizR are built on IBM Cloud Paks on Red Hat OpenShift and can run in any cloud environment, including the IBM public cloud.

Edge IoT Asset Monitoring With ClearBlade
ClearBlade is an industrial IoT platform and edge computing software company that enables enterprises to rapidly engineer and run secure, real-time scalable applications in industries including rail, aerospace, mining and agriculture.
The IBM collaboration will enable ClearBlade to deliver edge IoT asset monitoring for near-real time asset management. The ClearBlade Edge Asset Monitor solution integrated with IBM Edge Application Manager offers a secure, out-of-the-box bundle for managing containerized edge-based applications on any hardware.
The solution can be integrated with IBM Maximo to collect near-real time data into enterprise asset management and analyzed with artificial intelligence at the edge, powered by IBM Watson. This integration can give an enterprise a single system of record that is enriched with quality data and can be acted on with intelligent automation.
