John leads IBM Consulting, IBM’s global professional consulting services unit, an organization in 150 countries with deep industry expertise and market-leading capabilities in business transformation and technology implementation.

John has been a lead architect of the strategy for IBM Consulting, a key growth engine for IBM. Tightly aligned to IBM’s hybrid cloud and AI strategy, IBM Consulting delivers differentiated client value with capabilities built around business transformation, technology consulting and application operations. Under John’s leadership, IBM Consulting is executing its strategy through hiring and building skilled talent, targeted acquisitions, market-leading offerings, and deep strategic partnerships with leading cloud service providers, independent software vendors, and IBM Technology, including Red Hat OpenShift.

Previously, John was Senior Vice President, Hybrid Cloud Services and Chief Operating Officer, IBM Consulting. In this role, John was responsible for operational discipline and strategy execution, as well as leading hybrid cloud services and the IBM Consulting network of global delivery centers.  Prior to that, John was General Manager, Global Business Services, Europe, and held various leadership positions in the company. John joined IBM in 2002 as part of IBM’s acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting.

John is based in the United Kingdom and holds a Master of Arts degree in Modern History from Lincoln College Oxford.
