Senior Vice President, Infrastructure 

Barry Baker is Senior Vice President of Infrastructure, leading the business that powers IBM's hybrid cloud and AI strategy through scalable, resilient infrastructure that helps clients run and optimize mission-critical workloads across hybrid environments. He has global responsibility for the IBM Z, LinuxONE, and Power platforms; the IBM Storage portfolio and its software-defined offerings; IBM Cloud; the global infrastructure support business provided by IBM Technology Lifecycle Services; and IBM's company-wide Supply Chain mission.

Barry brings more than 25 years of IBM experience across software, product management, operations, and systems leadership. Most recently, Barry served as Infrastructure COO and GM of IBM Systems, leading Infrastructure's business operations and supply chain transformation, as well as overseeing the global strategy, product management, design, and engineering of the IBM Z, LinuxONE, Power, and Storage platforms. He is deeply focused on operational excellence and on leveraging automation and AI to drive productivity, efficiency, and innovation. This approach enables sustainable investment in new technologies and innovations that deliver long-term value to clients, partners, and shareholders.

Known as a transformational leader, Barry builds high-performing teams and organizational capabilities grounded in openness, collaboration, and measurable outcomes. He consistently fosters cultures that are data-driven, growth-oriented, and willing to take smart risks – leading to fast execution and client-focused business results.

Barry holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Union College and an M.Eng. in Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
